Raingutter Regatta


No real rules… just NO MOTORS allowed. This has to be wind powered. We won’t be keeping score like we do for pinewood derby… so we should keep this pretty open and see what ideas the boys come up with.  We are all excited to see what they all come up with. The only things to note is:

·         It has to be wind powered (blow on a sail)

·         It will be in a ~4” PVC pipe cut in half – wider boats won’t go

·         Consider ballasting, sail size, floatability and balance

There is a lot out there on making intense ones and easy / simple ones. The council store sells kits too. Anything will indeed do; but the idea is that the boys get creative. Here is some ideas I found…
